AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 8-2 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, <br />TO RETURN VENABLE SCHOOL AS THE LOCATION <br />FOR THE VENABLE SCHOOL ELECTION PRECINCT. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia that Section 8-2 of the Code of the City of <br />Charlottesville, 1976, as amended, is hereby amended and reordained <br />as follows: <br />Section 8-2. Election districts - Generally. <br />Each ward of the City shall constitute two election districts <br />or precincts, as defined in this section. Elections in each <br />district in each ward shall be held at such voting places as may <br />from time to time be designated by the council. The voting places, <br />as now constituted, shall be so continued unless and until changed <br />by the council, but no change shall be made in any voting place <br />within sixty days next preceding any general election: <br />(a) First ward: <br />(1) Clark School precinct. <br />(2) Recreation center precinct. ... <br />(b) Second ward: <br />(1) Carver precinct. . <br />(2) Walker School precinct. . . . <br />(c) Third ward: <br />(1) Central fire station precinct <br />(2) Jefferson Park precinct. . . <br />(d) Fourth ward: <br />(1) Venable School precinct. The Venable School precinct <br />of the fourth ward shall embrace all territory in the fourth ward <br />lying north of a line beginning at Main Street and 10th Street, <br />N.W.; thence along the center line of Main Street to its <br />intersection with Ivy Road; thence along the center line of Ivy <br />Road to the city limits. The voting place for this precinct shall <br />be Venable Elementary School.
