• AN ORDINANCE <br />CLOSING, VACATING AND DISCONTINUING <br />AN ALLEY BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND STREETS, N.E. <br />WHEREAS, proper notice that Jefferson National Bank would <br />request the City Planning Commission to initiate street closing <br />procedures to close an alley located behind Jefferson National Bank <br />on East Main Street and running between First and Second Streets, <br />N.E., was duly posted and advertised; <br />WHEREAS, owners along the street proposed to be vacated have <br />been duly notified; <br />WHEREAS, a joint public hearing by the Planning Commission and <br />City Council was held on February 13, 1989, and comments from the <br />City staff, the Planning Commission and the public were made and <br />heard; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recommended closure of said <br />alley with the condition that the petitioner complete the <br />development of the Jefferson National Bank Headquarters in <br />accordance with the approved site plan; now, therefore, <br />• BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia that the above -referenced alley, described as follows, is <br />hereby closed, vacated and discontinued as a public thoroughfare <br />of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, said alley not being <br />needed for public use and travel: <br />The alley running parallel to East Main and <br />Market Streets, between First Street, N.E. and <br />Second Street, N.E., eight (8) feet in width <br />for a distance of approximately 89 feet and <br />fifteen (15) feet in width for a distance of <br />approximately 106 feet, and adjoining parcels <br />244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 249, 250 and 251 on <br />City Tax Map 33. <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Clerk of the Council shall <br />send a copy of this ordinance with plat attached to the Clerk of <br />the Circuit Court for recordation in the current street closing <br />book. <br />Approved by Council <br />March 19, 1990 <br />erk of City Council <br />40 <br />0-7-6 <br />
