• AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND DISCONTINUING AN ALLEY BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND STREETS, N.E. WHEREAS, proper notice that Jefferson National Bank would request the City Planning Commission to initiate street closing procedures to close an alley located behind Jefferson National Bank on East Main Street and running between First and Second Streets, N.E., was duly posted and advertised; WHEREAS, owners along the street proposed to be vacated have been duly notified; WHEREAS, a joint public hearing by the Planning Commission and City Council was held on February 13, 1989, and comments from the City staff, the Planning Commission and the public were made and heard; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recommended closure of said alley with the condition that the petitioner complete the development of the Jefferson National Bank Headquarters in accordance with the approved site plan; now, therefore, • BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the above -referenced alley, described as follows, is hereby closed, vacated and discontinued as a public thoroughfare of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, said alley not being needed for public use and travel: The alley running parallel to East Main and Market Streets, between First Street, N.E. and Second Street, N.E., eight (8) feet in width for a distance of approximately 89 feet and fifteen (15) feet in width for a distance of approximately 106 feet, and adjoining parcels 244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 249, 250 and 251 on City Tax Map 33. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Clerk of the Council shall send a copy of this ordinance with plat attached to the Clerk of the Circuit Court for recordation in the current street closing book.
