• (b) Periodic adjustment. In the event of any changes in <br />supplier tariffs, contract quantities or costs of scheduled <br />substitute natural gas, the unit costs shall be recomputed on the <br />basis of such change in accordance with procedures approved by the <br />city manager. The difference between the unit costs so computed <br />and the base unit costs shall represent the purchased gas <br />adjustment to be applied to all customer bills issued beginning the <br />first billing month after each such change. <br />Sec. 31-64. Customer Deposits. <br />(a) The director of finance shall require deposits from <br />persons applying for gas service in accordance with the rules <br />established in this section. <br />(b) The normal deposit requirements shall be as follows: <br />(1) Residential <br />accounts <br />(2) Nonresidential <br />• accounts at loca- <br />tions with no <br />history of gas <br />service <br />• <br />With gas heat <br />$ 50.00 <br />?5-98 200.00 <br />Without gas heat <br />$ 20.00 <br />50.00 <br />(c) The normal deposit requirement will be waived, if: <br />(1) The applicant furnishes a letter from another gas, <br />water or electric utility with whom he has had <br />service within the past twenty-four (24) months <br />certifying that he has maintained an acceptable <br />credit record; or <br />(2) The director of finance is able to establish by <br />telephone call to another gas, water or electric <br />utility with which the applicant has had service <br />within the past twenty-four (24) months that the <br />applicant had no terminations for nonpayment within <br />the most recent twenty-four (24) months in which he <br />had service; or <br />
