• Prepared 10/26/92 <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING AND REORDAINING SECTION 5-2 OF CHAPTER 5 <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1990, AS AMENDED, <br />REGARDING THE BONDING OF CONTRACTORS <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that section 5-2 of Article I of Chapter 5 of the <br />Charlottesville City Code, 1990, as amended, is hereby amended and <br />reordained to read as follows: <br />CHAPTER 5 <br />BUILDINGS AND BUILDING REGULATION <br />ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL <br />Sec. 5-2. Registration and -bending of contractors. <br />(a) It shall be the duty of every contractor or builder who <br />shall make contracts for the erection , construction, alteration, <br />repair or demolition of a building or structure, or part thereof, <br />or for the installation of any electrical, plumbing or other <br />mechanical equipment for which a permit is required, and every <br />contractor making such contracts or subletting the same or any part <br />• thereof, to register in the office of the building official, giving <br />his full name and business and residence address. Such registration and -bend shall be properly recorded and <br />filed in the department-vf -pub}ie-�iuorlrs,--inspeetiens-ivis#on <br />City's Division of Building and Life Safety, and shall be open to <br />public inspection during office hours. <br />(c) The building official may suspend the registration of any <br />person found to be willfully in violation of the requirements of <br />this chapter. <br />Approved by Council <br />• November 16, 1992 1 rk of City Council <br />
