AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AUTHORIZE THE CONVEYANCE OF PROPERTY <br />LOCATED ON EIGHTH STREET, N.W. <br />TO THE CAPITAL LAND TRUST <br />WHEREAS, the Capital Land Trust wishes to acquire from the <br />City a small portion of Parcel 290 on City Tax Map 31, owned by the <br />City of Charlottesville, said portion shown as a shaded area on the <br />attached physical survey dated June 16, 1993; and <br />WHEREAS, a concrete wall and a corner of the building located <br />on Parcel 289 on City Tax Map 31, owned by Capital Land Trust, <br />encroach onto the above -referenced City -owned property; and <br />WHEREAS, the City -owned lot is presently unbuildable because <br />of various utility lines which run across it, and the Planning <br />Department and the Public Works Engineering division have no <br />objection to the sale of approximately 360 square feet of Parcel <br />290 to Capital Land Trust; and <br />WHEREAS, Capital Land Trust has offered to purchase that <br />portion of Parcel 290 shown on the attached survey for $600, which <br />is consistent with its fair market value; now, therefore <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia that the conveyance of a small portion of Parcel 290, City <br />Tax Map 31, owned by the City, is hereby authorized and the Mayor <br />is hereby authorized to execute a quitclaim deed, in form approved <br />by the City Attorney and substantially in the same form as attached <br />hereto. The City Attorney is hereby authorized to take whatever <br />steps are necessary to effect the closing of said property <br />conveyance. <br />Approved by Council <br />October 18, 1993 <br />rx of f CCouncil <br />
