F-1 <br />Ll <br />ii <br />L <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AUTHORIZE CONVEYANCE OF THE CITY'S OWNERSHIP INTEREST <br />IN THE JOINT SECURITY COMPLEX PROPERTY <br />LOCATED ON AVON STREET EXTENDED <br />TO THE ALBEMARLE CHARLOTTESVILLE REGIONAL JAIL AUTHORITY. <br />WHEREAS, by agreement dated November 15, 1995 (the <br />"Agreement"), approved by City Council on November 6, 1995, City <br />Council authorized the creation of a Regional Jail Authority to own <br />and operate the Albemarle -Charlottesville Joint Security Complex; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Section 2.5 of the Agreement requires the City and <br />Albemarle County to transfer all real and personal property <br />associated with the Joint Security Complex to the Regional Jail <br />Authority; now, therefore <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a deed, in <br />form approved by the City Attorney and substantially in the same <br />form as attached hereto, conveying the City's ownership interest in <br />all real and personal property associated with the Joint Security <br />Complex to the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail Authority. <br />The City Attorney is hereby authorized to take whatever steps are <br />necessary to effect the closing of said property conveyance. <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this ordinance is conditioned upon <br />approval by the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors of a similar <br />ordinance 'conveying the County's title interest in the jail <br />property to the Regional Jail Authority. <br />Approved by Council <br />April 1, 1996 <br />i <br />perk of City Council <br />
