ORDINANCE <br />• APPROVING SETTLEMENT AND COMPROMISE <br />OF TWO (2) CLAIMS AGAINST THE CITY <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, upon the <br />recommendation of the City Attorney, that settlement of the following described claims against <br />the City are hereby approved and ratified, and the Director of Finance is authorized to make <br />payment from the Risk Management Fund in accordance with this resolution: <br />(1) $21,750 - Damage to vehicles, and trailer, and a dwelling located at 2610 Jefferson <br />Park Avenue which occurred on May 11, 1996; and <br />(2) $8,700 - Personal injury to the driver of a vehicle which was rear-ended by a City <br />vehicle on February 22, 1994. <br />Notwithstanding the above, it is understood that settlement of these claims in no manner <br />acknowledges liability on the part of of the City for either of the claims described above, and <br />the City Attorney shall ensure that proper releases are secured from these claimants before <br />disbursing any funds. <br />Approved by Council <br />June 17, 1996 <br />C k of City Council <br />
