(16) Plumbing, heating and steamfitting. <br />• (17) Refrigeration. <br />(18) Road, street or sidewalk paving and utility construction. <br />(19) Roofing. <br />(20) Sewer drilling and well digging. <br />(21) Structural metal work. <br />(22) Tile, glass, flooring and floor covering installation. <br />(23) Wrecking, demolition and removal. <br />Section 14-17. Class II: Retail merchants. <br />(a) Generally. Any person defined as a "Retail merchant" in this chapter is classified as <br />a Class II business for license tax purposes. Such persons shall pay an annual license tax at the <br />rates hereinafter set forth. <br />(b) Subclassification A. Retail merchants ha-ving regular pittees of btisiness within the <br />eity shall obtain a city business license and shall pay an annual license tax €ereaeh plaee e€ <br />business at the rate of twenty cents ($0.20) per hundred dollars ($100.00) of gross receipts. This <br />subclassification shall include, but not be limited to: <br />(1) General retailers, including short-term rental businesses, as defined in section 30- <br />316 of this Code. <br />• (2) Junk dealers. <br />(3) Opticians. <br />(4) Restaurants. <br />The Commissioner ofte Reverme shall not issue a business license for a restaurant until the <br />owner or operator has presented a valid permit from the health department, issued pursuant to Code <br />of Virginia, Chapter 3 of Title 35.1. <br />(c) Subclassification B. The following types of businesses shall alse obtain a city business <br />license and shall pay an annual license tax, __ to <br />`heir retail _ .'_ at the rate of twenty cents ($0.20) <br />per hundred dollars ($100.00) of gross receipts: <br />(1) Bakeries. <br />(2) Printers. <br />(d) Subclassification C: Peddlers - Generally. Any person who carries from place to place <br />any goods, wares or merchandise and offers to sell or barter or actually sells or barters and at the <br />time of such sale, or exposure for sale delivers or offers to deliver at the same time to retail <br />customers is a peddler. Any person who does not keep a regular place of business, with regular <br />business hours, but at some vacant lot or other place offers to sell goods, wares and merchandise to <br />retail customers, is a peddler.
