allowance paid under the full joint and last survivor option provided for in section 19-104(b), <br />. with his surviving spouse designated as contingent beneficiary. .. . <br />Sec. 19-139. Termination of coverage; termination of service; retirement. <br />(a) Effective January 1, 1985, city contributions to the expense of any employee's health <br />care coverage shall cease as of the last day of the month during which any such employee leaves <br />city service without retiring either for service or disability, even if such employee may be a <br />vested member of the city's supplemental retirement or pension plan and eligible to retire under <br />such plan in the future. <br />(b) All employees eligible for city -paid health care coverage on Deeember 31; 1984 <br />June 30, 1997, and who continue to work for the city until they retire for service or disability, <br />shall remain eligible in retirement for city -paid health care coverage, but the city reserves the <br />right to amend the plan from time to time as it deems appropriate. While such retirees remain in <br />the plan, they remain eligible to enroll family members in the plan at retiree expense and subject <br />to certain restrictions which may vary from time to time. <br />Approved by Council <br />June 2, 1997 <br />G 610r <br />dJRIrk of City Council <br />El <br />
