AN ORDINANCE <br />• TO AUTHORIZE CONVEYANCE OF A PORTION <br />OF THE DALE STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY <br />TO CANVASBACK LAND TRUST <br />WHEREAS, Canvasback Land Trust ('Purchaser") has asked to purchase a portion of the <br />Dale Street right-of-way, approximately 6,913 square feet in area, adjoining their property at the <br />corner of Forrest Street and Dale Avenue; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with Virginia Code §15.2-1800(B), a public hearing was held <br />to give the public an opportunity to comment on the possible sale of said City land; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Assessor has determined that Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) <br />is a fair offer for the land, considering its topography and other factors, and the Purchaser has <br />agreed to pay $5,000.00 as the purchase price; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Engineer and the Director of Planning and Community Development <br />have reviewed the request and have no objections to the sale; now, therefore <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the Mayor <br />is hereby authorized to execute a quitclaim deed, in form approved by the City Attorney, <br />conveying the above -referenced land to Purchaser for the purchase price of $5,000.00.
