AN ORDINANCE <br />• TO AUTHORIZE CONVEYANCE <br />OF A PORTION OF THE VALLEY ROAD EXTENDED RIGHT-OF-WAY <br />TO THOMAS ROHR. <br />WHEREAS, Thomas Rohr wishes to acquire a portion of the Valley Road Extended right- <br />of-way, approximately 932 square feet in area, shown as Parcel X on the attached plat dated <br />March 19, 2001, for the purpose of combining it with his residential lot at 103 North Baker <br />Street; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with Virginia Code §15.2-1800(B), a public hearing was held <br />to give the public an opportunity to comment on the possible sale of said City land; and <br />WHEREAS, in exchange for the conveyance of Parcel X, Mr. Rohr has agreed to grant <br />the City a permanent easement, valued at $525.00, for the maintenance and repair of the existing <br />sanitary sewer line shown on the attached plat; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Assessor has appraised the fair market value of Parcel X at $500.00; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Engineer and the Director of Neighborhood Development Services <br />• have reviewed the plan and have no objections to the conveyance; now, therefore <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the Mayor <br />is hereby authorized to execute a quitclaim deed, in form approved by the City Attorney, <br />conveying the above -referenced right-of-way to Thomas Rohr. The deed shall grant the City of <br />Charlottesville a permanent easement for maintenance and repair of an existing sanitary sewer <br />line. The City Attorney is hereby authorized to take whatever steps are necessary to effect the <br />closing of said property conveyance. <br />Approved by Council <br />July 16, 2001 <br />ek of City Council <br />
