AN ORDINANCE <br />• TO AMEND AND REORDAIN CHAPTER 34 (ZONING), <br />ARTICLES I, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, and ARTICLE XV OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1990, AS AMENDED, <br />RELATING TO RESIDENTIAL DENSITIES IN BUSINESS AND INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that Chapter 34 of <br />the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1990, as amended, is hereby amended and reordained, as <br />follows: <br />CHAPTER 34 (ZONING), ARTICLE I (IN GENERAL) <br />34-4.Definitions <br />Boardinghouse. A building, or portion thereof, other than a hotel, which contains three (3) or more <br />guest rooms designed or intended to be used, let or hired out for occupancy, for compensation, where <br />the rental or leases are for weekly or longer periods, and where meals may be provided in connection <br />with such occupancy. for s...:,,.. and b , pre r . dr fk4ite periods, .,wale or iodgi.,,. <br />and ,. valg aw ,.:doa f . *ti.00 (3) ^- MQ;@ porgon A a boardinghouse shall not be deemed a <br />home occupation. <br />Guest room. A room which is designed or intended for occupancy by one or more persons, but in <br />• which no provision is made for cooking (and not including dormitory rooms). <br />n <br />LJ <br />Rooming house. A building, or portion thereof, other than a hotel , which contains three (3) or more <br />guest rooms designed or intended to be used, let or hired out for occupancy, for compensation, where <br />the rental or leases are for weeklv or <br />•A rooming house <br />shall not be deemed a home occupation. <br />CHAPTER 34 (ZONING), ARTICLE XI (B-1 BUSINESS DISTRICT) <br />34-379. Same—With Special Use Permit. <br />The following uses may be permitted in the B-1 Business District with a special use permit: <br />(1) Hotels or motels without restaurants, and with fewer than one hundred (100) rooms. <br />(2) Hospitals. <br />(3) Radio, television, telephone, telegraph and electricity transmission towers and stations and <br />similar facilities. <br />(4) Animal hospitals without outside runs or pens. <br />(5) Public utility facilities. <br />(6) Florists, including greenhouses; provided, that no commercial greenhouse heating plant shall be <br />operated within one hundred (100) feet of any lot line. <br />
