Notwithstanding the foregoing, effective October 21, 2002, the following water conservation <br />is <br />rates shall be in effect: <br />(1) Monthly service charge: $1.25 <br />(2) Metered water consumption per 1,000 cu. ft.: $37.16 <br />(b) This section shall not apply to special contracts for the consumption of water which <br />have been authorized by the city council. The rates established in any such contracts shall be <br />increased by fifty percent (50%), n th^ ^ff ctive ai*^ f r ph:4^e 11 . ':Aer Fewtrict;^. <br />dgfi,^a ,., Cjt., r^,1^ wGtiop 31-125(4 effective September 17, 2002. <br />(c) The water conservation rates and the increase in rates established in special contracts <br />shall be applied on the first water bills issued by the City of Charlottesville after September 17, <br />2002, Ih^ off_cti-g date for ^^^.:^. :1-125 ph.,^^ 11 . ,at^. and shall remain in effect <br />until the first billing following the last day when City Code section 31-125 Phase I1 water <br />restrictions are in effect. <br />Nothing contained in these amendments to sections 31-125 and 31-153 herein shall be construed <br />to affect, limit or rescind any actions taken pursuant to section 31-125 prior to these <br />amendments. The provisions of this Ordinance are intended to be severable, and the <br />enforceability of any provision in the Ordinance, as determined by a court of competent <br />jurisdiction, shall not affect the enforceability of any other provision in the Ordinance. <br />• This ordinance is an emergency ordinance that shall take effect immediately upon passage.
