• AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING THE DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION 34-15 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1990, AS AMENDED, BY THE RE -ZONING OF PARCEL 157 AND PARCEL 157.1, Lots 2-4.2 and A-3.2, CITY TAX MAP 57, FROM "M-2" TO "M-1" WHEREAS, the Owner of Parcels 157 and 157.1 (Lots 2-4.2 and A-3.2), City Tax Map 57, has submitted an application seeking a rezoning of his property from "M-2 General Industrial District" to "M-1 Restricted Industrial District" (hereinafter, the "Proposed Rezoning"); and WHEREAS, ajoint public hearing on this application was held before the City Council and Planning Commission on June 11, 2002, following notice to the public and to adjacent property owners as required by law; and WHEREAS, on June 11, 2002 the Planning Commission voted to recommend the Proposed Rezoning; and WHEREAS, this Council finds and determines that the public necessity, convenience, general welfare or good zoning practice requires the Proposed Rezoning; that both the existing "M-2" and the proposed "MA" zoning classifications are reasonable; and that the Proposed Rezoning is consistent with the purpose and intent of the City Code, Chapter 34, Article XV; • Now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the District Map incorporated in Section 34-15 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1990, as amended, be and hereby is amended and reenacted as follows: Section 34-15. Zoning District Map. Rezoning from M-2 General Industrial District to M-1 Restricted Industrial District Parcel 157 and Parcel 157.1, Lots 2-4.2 and A-3.2, City Real Estate Tax Map 57, having approximately 800 feet of frontage on Carlton Road, and containing (together) approximately 479,000 square feet, or approximately 11 acres, of land.
