Such interest shall continue to accrue until the deposit is refunded or <br />until a reasonable effort is made to refund it, and this interest shall be paid with such refund. <br />Sec. 31-65. When bills payable; delinquent accounts. <br />(a) All bills for gas service and other charges rendered pursuant to this article shall be payable upon <br />presentation, and shall be considered to be in arrears if not paid prior to the rendering of the next monthly <br />billing. Any amount for which payment has not been received by the next billing date shall be subject to <br />the imposition of a finance charge of One (1) one and one-half (1.5) percent per month for each month <br />until payment is made. The next billing date shall be clearly stated on each monthly statement and shall <br />be not less than twenty-five (25) days after the date of the current billing. <br />Sec. 31-66. Charge for restoring service terminated for nonpayment, and Gharge for Ge"Patien <br />(a) For turning gas on again after it has been terminated for nonpayment, there shall be a charge of <br />twenty dollars ($20. thirty dollars ($30.00), payable in advance. Complaints against bills; testing meters; re -reading meters. <br />(a) A complaint against a gas bill shall not be accepted as a proper excuse for the complainant not <br />paying the bill when due nor exempt the complainant from the imposition of penalties for failure to pay the <br />bill at the proper time. <br />(b) On request of the consumer, the city shall cause the gas meter to be tested and if the meter is found <br />inaccurate, exceeding two (2) percent, the meter shall be replaced at the expense of the city. If the meter <br />is found to be accurate with two (2) percent, the consumer shall pay fifty dollars ($50.00) for this service <br />for a single family residential meter. For other meters, the fee for this service will be based on the citv's <br />cost <br />ARTICLE III. WATER AND SEWERS GENERALLY <br />Sec. 31-104. Charge for turning on water and other service calls. <br />• There shall be a charge of thirty dollars ($30.00) for turning on water service, either initially or <br />after it has been discontinued during normal business hours and forty-eight dollars ($48.00) outside <br />
