A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S INTERVENTION IN A <br />RATE APPLICATION OF COLUMBIA GAS TRANSMISSION CORPORATION <br />BEFORE THE FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION. <br />WHEREAS, the Columbia Gas Transmission Corporaiiori'on November <br />30, 1977, filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission <br />for an annual increase of $67.1. million'in the rates charged to its jurisdic- <br />tional customers; and <br />WHEREAS, this tCouncil:has determined it to be in the' best interests <br />of the City and the customers of;the'City's natural gas system to intervene . <br />in such rate proceeding; now, therefore, be it. <br />RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Charlottesville,, that the <br />City Attorney is hereby authorized to initiate the City's intervention in -the <br />pending rate application of Columbia Gas Transmission .Corporation, 'in <br />Federal Energy Regulatory Commissions Docket No. RP -78- _ and acting <br />• <br />through special counselretained.for such purpose to take such actions ih . <br />such proceedings as he deemsadvisable to protect the interests of the City' <br />- •;,; <br />therein. <br />Adopted by the Council . <br />December 19, 1977 <br />Copy Teste: <br />Clerk <br />• <br />
