A RESOLUTION <br />IN RECOGNITION OF THE RETIREMENT OF <br />SHARON B. HOOSE <br />i'dl-IEREAS, Mr. Sharon B. Hoose has brought great credit to himself and family <br />and profound enjoyment and pleasure to the people of Charlottesville during a <br />long and distinguished professional and civic career; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Hoose served as Director of the Lane High School Band for <br />over thirty-four years with outstanding success and distinction; and <br />WHEREAS, during his career the Lane High School Band consistently received <br />the rating of superior at regional and state band clinics and festivals; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Hoose was recognized nationally as an outstanding high school <br />band director; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Hoose was later named the Coordinator of Music for Charlottes- <br />ville City Schools from 1974 until 1976; and <br />I'JHEREAS, Mr. Hoose has retired from the position of Director of the <br />Charlottesville Municipal Band after providing twenty-three years of exemplary <br />leadership and dedication; <br />WFIBREAS, Mr. Hoose has enhanced the level of musicianship and playing ability <br />of all who have come under his directorship and has contributed significantly <br />• to the enrichment of the City of Charlottesville's cultural atmosphere; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that -the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville expresses its deepest appreciation to Sharon B. Hoose for his many years <br />of outstanding leadership and service. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread in the minutes of <br />the Council meeting of March 3, 1980, and that 'a copy be presented to Mr. Hoose <br />as a token of appreciation for his devotion to the City of Charlottesville. <br />�(D <br />r` <br />
