• Resolution <br />WHEREAS, by a resolution adopted August 25, 1980, the <br />City Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia (the <br />"City Council") approved a Conservation Plan for Charlottes- <br />ville Central Business District dated August 25, 1980 (the <br />"Conservation Plan"); <br />WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that it is in <br />the public interest that the Conservation Plan be amended as <br />provided below; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA: <br />1. It is hereby declared that it is in the best interests <br />• of the public to amend the Conservation Plan to provide for <br />(a) the promotion of its objectives by encouraging new con- <br />struction under the Charlottesville Central City Commercial <br />Rehabilitation Loan Policy which is a part thereof; (c) the <br />acquisition of land by the Charlottesville Redevelopment & <br />Housing Authority (the "Authority"), excepting, however, the <br />acquisition of land by the exercise of the power of eminent <br />domain; and (d) the deletion of any reference that the City <br />of Charlottesville, Virginia may not acquire land by the <br />exercise of the power of eminent domain or otherwise. <br />2. The Authority is hereby authorized and directed to <br />prepare such amendments to the Conservation Plan as it deems <br />necessary or advisable in order to amend the Conservation <br />• Plan as set forth above. <br />
