• RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF <br />REAL ESTATE BY REGION TEN COMMUNITY SERVICES <br />BOARD AND THE EXECUTION OF RELATED DOCUMENTS <br />WHEREAS, Region Ten Community Services Board, an agency <br />formed pursuant to Section 37.1-194 et seg. of the Code of <br />Virginia of 1950, as amended, by the City of Charlottesville, and <br />the Counties of Albemarle, Nelson, Greene, Fluvanna and Louisa, <br />Virginia, all political subdivisions of the Commonwealth of <br />Virginia, ("Region Ten") is the owner of certain real estate <br />located at 503 Sixteenth Street, N.W., in the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia and is the beneficial owner of certain <br />real estate located at 409 Third Street, N.E., in the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia which property is held in the name of <br />William T. Stevens and Isabel A. Palmer, as Trustees for Region <br />Ten (collectively referred to as the "Properties"); and <br />WHEREAS, in order to promote the more efficient <br />management of its assets and to carry out its purposes more <br />effectively, Region Ten desires to transfer and convey its <br />interest in the Properties and to use the proceeds from such <br />sales for the purchase, or the lease, and renovation of a new <br />facility to relocate the mental health day program currently <br />housed at the 409 Third Street, N.E. property and to apply any <br />excess proceeds to the Region Ten Community Services Board <br />• Special Projects Fund; and <br />WHEREAS, Region Ten, at its regularly scheduled meeting <br />held on June 10, 1985, voted to sell the Properties and apply the <br />proceeds as set forth above; and <br />WHEREAS, after careful consideration and in furtherance <br />of the foregoing public purpose, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY <br />THE COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA, THAT: <br />1. For the purpose of promoting the more <br />efficient management of its assets and to carry out its functions <br />more effectively, the transfer and conveyance by Region Ten of <br />its ownership interest in the Properties is hereby authorized. <br />2. The Executive Director of Region Ten is hereby <br />directed to negotiate and execute on behalf of Region Ten a <br />Contract of Sale for each of the Properties upon such terms and <br />conditions as the Board of Directors of Region Ten shall deem to <br />be in the best interest of Region Ten. In the procuring of a <br />buyer for its interest in the Properties, Region Ten may retain a <br />licensed real estate broker to act as its agent in these real <br />estate transactions. <br />
