RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, the Secretary of Transportation is authorized to make grants for mass <br />transportation projects; and <br />WHEREAS, the contract for financial assistance from the Virginia Alternative Fuels <br />Revolving Fund will impose certain obligations upon the applicant, including the provision by the <br />City of the local share of project costs; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council for the City of Charlottesville, Virginia: <br />1. That Gary O'Connell, City Manager, is authorized to execute and file an application on <br />behalf of the City of Charlottesville with the Virginia Department of Transportation to financially <br />assist in the purchase of alternatively fueled vehicles. <br />2. That Judith Mueller, Director of Public Works, is authorized to furnish such additional <br />information as the Virginia Department of Transportation may require in connection with the <br />• application for the project. <br />3. That Linda Peacock, Assistant City Manager, is authorized to execute grant <br />agreements on behalf of the City of Charlottesville with the Virginia Department of <br />Transportation in conjunction with this project. <br />Approved by Council <br />October 21, 1997 <br />rk of City Counci, <br />0 <br />
