• RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, on May 17, 1999, the Charlottesville City Council, prior to approval, <br />amended the Service Agreement for the Blue Ridge Juvenile Detention Center by inserting <br />language in Section 2.1 of said agreement which would require each Member Jurisdiction of <br />the Blue Ridge Juvenile Detention Commission to approve the location of the site for the <br />detention facility; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after consultation with representatives of the other governing <br />bodies of the Member Jurisdictions, has agreed to rescind the amendment; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that this <br />Council hereby modifies the Service Agreement with an amendment to Section 2.1 of the <br />Agreement, shown as follows: <br />Section 2.1 Construction of Detention Center. The Commission agrees to construct <br />and equip the Detention Center, designed to initially hold a rated capacity of 40 beds, located <br />at such site as the Commission may determine <br />of the Member Jut i-sdiefion . The initial construction of the Detention Center shall include core <br />facilities to accommodate the construction of at least 40 additional beds. At such time as the <br />• Commission determines that the construction of such additional beds is necessary, the <br />Commission shall proceed with such additional construction, subject to the requirements of <br />Section 3. 10, and provided that funds for debt service on any Obligations attributable to the <br />construction of such additional beds shall be collected through a separately calculated <br />component of the Per Diem Charge that shall only be allocated among and payable by those <br />Member Jurisdictions that have approved in writing the Commission's undertaking to construct <br />and finance such additional beds. <br />Approved by Council <br />June 7, 1999 <br />1 k of City Council <br />40 <br />
