• A RESOLUTION <br />STATING THAT A WATER SUPPLY EMERGENCY <br />IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE <br />NO LONGER EXISTS <br />WHEREAS, on September 16, 2002 the City Council declared the existence of a <br />water supply emergency within the City of Charlottesville and imposed mandatory <br />restrictions on the use of water from the City public water supply; and, <br />WHEREAS, Ci Code § 31-125 provides that Phase I water restrictions shall remain <br />in full force and effect until City Council determines that a water emergency in the City of <br />Charlottesville no longer exists, and that Phase II water restrictions shall remain in full force <br />and effect until the usable water supply in the urban reservoir system has been measured at <br />an average of at least 85% or more of capacity for any period of seven consecutive days; and, <br />WHEREAS, the usable water supply in the urban reservoir system has improved to <br />in excess of 85% of capacity due to recent rainfalls, seasonal change and a significant <br />reduction in consumption by City and County water users; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Director of Public Works has recommended that City Council <br />declare that a water supply emergency no longer exists. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council for the City of <br />Charlottesville that a water supply emergency within the City of Charlottesville no longer <br />exists, and the mandatory Phase I and Phase II restrictions set forth in City Code § 31-125 <br />are therefore no longer in effect. <br />Approved by Council <br />November 18, 2002 <br />e k of City C uncil <br />
