A RESOLUTION <br />REQUESTING A REALLOCATION OF <br />FEDERAL TEA -21 GRANT FUNDS <br />WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville has previously received commitments of <br />federal TEA -21 grant funds, administered through the Virginia Department of <br />Transportation, for both sidewalks and bicycle lanes on Rugby Road and for the <br />enhancement of the historic Court Square area; and, <br />WHEREAS, construction has not yet started on either the Rugby Road or Court <br />Square projects, and it appears that there will not be sufficient grant funding to fully <br />construct both projects; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of City Council that the available funding which is <br />currently allocated to the Rugby Road sidewalk and bicycle lane project be reallocated to the <br />historic Court Square enhancement project, so that it may be completely constructed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council for the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the Virginia Department of Transportation is hereby requested <br />to reallocate and transfer TEA -21 grant funds previously dedicated to the Rugby Road <br />sidewalk and bicycle lane project to the historic Court Square project. <br />Approved by Council <br />November 4, 2002 <br />e t of City Cou cil <br />
