<br />expand and renovate the Albemarle-Charlottesville Joint
<br />Security Complex (ACJSC); and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors has
<br />approved funding $300,000 of the cost of the project and
<br />approved a loan of $300,000 to the ACJSC, which loan will be
<br />repaid when the ACJSC~is reimbursed by the Commonwealth of
<br />Virginia;and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, City Council has appropriated $300,000 in the
<br />Capital Improvements Plan toward the cost of the expansion
<br />project and wishes to approve a loan of another $300,000
<br />which will be repaid when the ACJSC is reimbursed by the
<br />Commonwealth of Virginia; now, therefore
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum of $300,000 is hereby
<br />loaned from the General Fund to the ACJSC for the expansion
<br />and renovation of the Joint Security Complex. This loan will
<br />be repaid when the ACJSC is reimbursed $600,000 from the
<br />Commonwealth of Virginia upon completion of the project.

<br />APPROPRIATION: AMENDING 1987-88 CAPITAL BUDGET (2nd reading)
<br />
<br /> The appropriation amending the 1987-88 Capital Budget
<br />which was offered at the June 6th meeting was approved by the
<br />following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs, Gleason, Dr.
<br />Hall, Mr. Toweo Noes: None.
<br />
<br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
<br />Charlottesville, Virginia, as follows: ·
<br />
<br /> (1) The sum of $283,000 is hereby appropriated to fund a
<br /> short term loan to the Charlottesville Industrial Development
<br /> Authority (the "Authority,,) to use in its purchase of
<br /> approximately 16 acres of land from CSX Transportation, Inc.
<br />
<br /> (2) This amount shall be credited to the City by the
<br /> Authority when the City purchases a portion of the aforesaid
<br /> CSX property from the Authority to be used as a public
<br /> parking lot. If the purchase price due the Authority for the
<br /> parking lot is less than this $283,000 loan, the difference
<br /> shall be repaid to the City at closing.

<br /> (3) The 1987-88 Capital Improvements Budget is hereby
<br /> amended to reflect the foregoing appropriation and loan. Set
<br /> forth below are the capital project categories, as amended:

<br /> WHEREAS, on April 12, 1988, the ~Council of the City of
<br />Charlottesville adopted a budget 'for Fiscal Year 1988-89,
<br />including as a portion thereof the Capital Projects budget;
<br />and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, specific amOunts for project categories were
<br />not delineated in that budget; now, therefore,
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
