Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. <br /> Buck,: Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe.' Noes: None. <br />ORDINANCE: INCREASING STREET CUT FEES AND AMENDING TO INCLUDE <br />SIDEWALKS (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS <br /> 25-29.1, 25-30.1, 25-30.2, 25-31 AND 25-32.1 OF ARTICLE II OF <br /> CHAPTER 25 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS <br /> AMENDED, RELATING TO EXCAVATIONS IN PUBLIC WAYS," which was <br /> offered at the June 6th meeting, was approved by the following <br /> vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. <br /> Towe. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE: AMENDING PROCUREMENT ORDINANCE (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br /> CHAPTER 21.1, PURCHASING, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br /> CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA TO CONFORM THE LOCAL ORDINANCE WITH <br /> STATE LAW REQUIREMENTS AND MAKE OTHER HOUSEKEEPING CHANGES," <br /> which was offered at the June 6th meeting, was approved by the <br /> following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. <br /> Hall, Mr. Towe. Noes: None. <br /> ORDINANCE: REZONING SOUTHEAST CORNER OF 13TH STREET, S.W. AND JOHN <br /> STREET FROM R-2 TO R-3 <br /> Mr. Ron Higgins, Planner in the Department of Community <br /> Development, stated that the'Planning Commission recommended <br /> approval of the rezoning for the following reasons: 1) It is <br /> in harmony with the Land Use Plan of the Comprehensive Plan; <br /> 2) The proposed uses are compatible with the majority of the <br /> surrounding uses; and 3) The property adjoins other R-3 zoning <br /> to the south and east. <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Barnes, the <br /> ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AND REENACTING THE DISTRICT <br /> MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION 31-4 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE <br /> CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, BY THE <br /> REZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF 13TH STREET, N.W. <br /> AND JOHN STREET" was offered and carried over to the next <br /> meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE: CLOSING A PORTION OF TAYLOR STREET <br /> Mr~ Higgins stated that the Planning Commission~ <br /> recommended closing a portion of Taylor Street with the <br /> following conditions: 1) The applicants be responsible for the <br /> relocation and replacement of all utilities within the street <br /> right-of-way to the specifications of the City of <br /> Charlottesville; 2) Easements for the maintenance and repair of <br /> all relocated utilities be provided to the City where needed; <br /> 3) A safe pedestrian linkage be provided from Lexington Avenue <br /> to Locust Avenue, for the use of the neighborhood and visitors, <br /> as a condition of the closing of this portion of Taylor Street <br /> as shown on the final site plan of the Hospital expansion; and <br /> 4) That the street sign be relocated from the northeast corner <br /> to a west corner to retain property identification of Lexington <br /> Avenue and Taylor Street to the west. <br /> On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Mr. Barnes, the <br /> ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND <br /> DISCONTINUING A PORTION OF TAYLOR STREET" was offered and <br /> carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> <br />
