192 <br /> <br />amount of $3,963 awarded under the Emergency Food and Shelter <br />Program; now, therefore <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that $3,963 is hereby appropriated <br />to Social Services Fund expenditure account 12-161-062292 for <br />use by the Social Services Department for payment of rent and <br />utility bills for eligible recipients. Such appropriation <br />shall be conditioned upon receipt of $3,963 from FEMA's <br />Emergency Food and Shelter Program. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $60,000 - CTS-UTS TRANSPORTATION STUDY (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The $60,000 appropriation for the CTS-UTS <br />Transportation Study which was offered at the August 15th <br />meeting was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. <br />Buck, Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Albemarle, the University of <br />Virginia and the City have agreed to jointly fund a study to <br />evaluate the possibility of transportation service <br />coordination to reduce costs and improve the quality of <br />service; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City will be the contracting agency; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum of ~60,000 is hereby <br />appropriated to expenditure account 26-191-053103 in the <br />Capital Projects Fund for the purpose of funding a study to <br />evaluate the possibility of transportation service <br />coordinatiOn among the Charlottesville Transit Service (CTS), <br />the University Transit Service (UTS) and JAUNT. This <br />appropriation shall include $20,000, which is hereby <br />transferred from Capital Projects Fund account 26-181-051100 <br />as the City's share of the cost of this study, and <br />conditioned upon receipt of $20,000 from the University of <br />Virginia and $20,000 from the County of Albemarle as their <br />contributions to the cost of such study, for a total <br />appropriation of $60,000. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $10,000 - PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC SIGNALS - LOCUST/ <br />E. HIGH STREET (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ~10,000 for the pedestrian traffic signals at <br />Locust and E. High Street which was offered at the August <br />15th meeting was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. <br />Buck, Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that the sum of $10,000 is hereby <br />appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the Capital <br />Projects Fund to expenditure account 26-186-051125 in the <br />Capital Projects Fund for the purpose of installing traffic <br />signalization improvements to aid in pedestrian access to the <br />intersection of Locust Avenue and East High Street. This <br />appropriation is conditioned upon receipt of $10,000 from <br />Martha Jefferson Hospital, such improvements being one of the <br />requirements of the special permit granted by City Council on <br />May 2, 1988 allowing expansion of the hospital. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br />~37,851 - FIRE SERVICE PROGRAM ENTITLEMENT <br /> <br /> The $37,851 appropriation of the Fire Service Program <br />Entitlement which was offered at the August 15th meeting was <br />approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Rev, <br />Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br /> <br /> <br />
