Mr. Buck added that it might be desirable to have <br />a committee deal with tourism and non-management issues. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hendrix stated that the City provides twice the <br />amount provided by Albemarle County at the present time on a <br />ratio based on the transient lodging tax. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Towe, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />resolution approving the contract with Albemarle County and <br />the Chamber of Commerce regarding the Visitors Center was <br />unanimously approved by Council. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to <br />execute on behalf of the City the following document, form <br />approved by the City Attorney: <br /> <br />Agreement between the City of Charlottesville, <br />the County of Albemarle and the Charlottesville- <br />Albemarle Chamber of Commerce for the purpose of <br />maintaining and operating the Charlottesville- <br />Albemarle Visitors' Bureau. <br /> <br /> A copy of such document shall be kept on file with the <br />minutes of the Council meeting at which this resolution was <br />adopted. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: APPROVING CONTRACT WITH NATIONAL GUARD RE: ARMORY ON <br />AVON STREET <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the City's original contract <br />with the National Guard for the Armory was signed in 1972 and <br />required that the City pay maintenance and upkeep on the <br />building in exchange for allowing the building to be used by <br />the community. Mr. Hendrix stated that the Armory which is <br />now located on Avon Street Extended receives very little <br />community use and the contract will release the City from its <br />responsibility to maintain the building. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev.
