Mr. Dunbar stated that demolition work at Venable Elementary School is ahead of schedule, some of the site and concrete work is slightly behind, and no major surprises or cost increases have occurred. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. MINUTES On motion by Mr. Towe, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the minutes of the November 7th meeting were unanimously approved as presented. On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the minutes of the November 9th meeting were approved as presented~ with Mr. Towe abstaining. On motion by Mr. Towe, seconded by Rev. Edwards, the minutes of the November 14th meeting were unanimouSly approved as presented. On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the minutes of the November 21st meeting were unanimously approved as presented. On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Mr. Towe, the minutes of the November 29th meeting were approved as presented, with Rev. Edwards abstaining. PUBLIC Mr. David Brown, a resident of RugbY Avenue and a business owner on West Main Street requested that Council express its dissatisfaction with the proposed relocation of the ABC Store to West Main Street because the area borders on a residential area, because of the possibility of loitering, increased crime and public drunkenness, and because West Main Street is the major corridor between the University and downtown. Ms. Waters stated that the location of the ABC Store is not a Council decision, but that the City has been working with the State ABC Board to find a site which is both accessible and will not have a negative impact on the surrounding neighborhood. Rev. William Johnson stated that the recent decision of School Board member James Hingeley to remove his children from Walker Upper Elementary School and subsequent refusal to make public his reasons for doing so has created controversy in the community. Rev. Johnson requested that Council act to remove Mr. Hingeley from the School Board.
