Noes: <br />None. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of SoCial Services has <br />selected the Charlottesville Department of Social Services to <br />operate pilot projects using "Unit Clerks" to provide <br />clerical assistance to eligibility workers in order to <br />increase productivity and improve service delivery: and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Social Services has <br />offered to fund two temporary, part-time positions, to be <br />known as unit clerks, in the City's Department of Social <br />Services as a part of the pilot project, at a cost to the <br />state of $12,009; now, therefore <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />CharlotteSville, Virginia that the sum of $12,009, to be <br />received as a grant from the Virginia Department of Social <br />Services, is hereby appropriated to expenditure account <br />12-161-062278 in the Social Services Fund, for the purpose of <br />funding two temporary, part-time Clerk II positions in the <br />Charlottesville Department of Social Services. The grant <br />will fund such positions from January i, 1989 through June <br />30, 1989 and requires no local match of funds. This <br />appropriation is conditioned upon the receipt of $12,009 from <br />the Virginia Department of Social Services. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: ~3,600 - DMV SAFETY PROJECT GRANT (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The $3,600 appropriation of the DMV Safety Project Grant <br />which was offered at the December 19th meeting was approved <br />by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Rev. Edwards, Mr. <br />Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> .BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum of $3,600 is hereby <br />appropriated to expenditure account 11-270-041130 in the <br />Grants Fund.
