The $15,545 appropriation for the Republican Primary <br />which was offered at the February 6th meeting was approved by <br />the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, <br />Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum of $15,545 is hereby <br />appropriated from the unexpended balance of the General Fund <br />to expenditure account 05-060-037010 for the purpose of <br />funding a primary election for the Republican Party on June <br />13, 1989, as requested by the Electoral Board of <br />Charlottesville. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $19,734 - RIVANNA PARK (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The $19,734. appropriation for Rivanna Park which was <br />offered at the February 6th meeting was approved by the <br />following vote. Ayes.: Mrs. Buck, Rew. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. <br />Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes:. None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum of $16,984, <br />representing the unspent balance of the Rivanna Park <br />operating budget for fiscal year 1988, is hereby appropriated <br />from the unexpended balance of the General Fund to <br />expenditure account 26-171-121061 in the Capital Projects <br />Fund to be expended in fiscal year 1989 for the purpose of <br />construction at Rivanna Park. - <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $2,750 is hereby <br />appropriated from the unexpended balance of the Capital <br />Projects Fund to expenditure account 26-171-121061 in the <br />same Fund to supplement $150,000 appropriated by City Council <br />on November 2, ~t98~ as the City's share of the costs for <br />construction of Rivanna Park. This appropriation is <br />conditioned upon matching appropriations by Albemarle County <br />totalling $152;750. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br />$252,279 - GRANT FOR ACCESS ROAD TO RIVANNA PARK <br /> <br /> The $252,279 appropriation of the grant for an access <br />road to Rivanna Park which was offered at the February 6th <br />meeting was ~approved by the following vote.~-~Ayes: Mr. BUck, <br />Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: <br />None. ~- - <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council.of the:Ci'ty of- <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum of $252,2779.00, to <br />be received as a grant from the Virginia Department of <br />Transportation, is hereby appropriated to expenditure account <br />26-171-121061 for the purpose of constructing an-access road <br />within and to Rivanna Park. This appropriation is <br />conditioned upon receipt of a Recreation Access Grant in the <br />amount of $25.2,279.00 from the Virginia Department of' <br />Transportation. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: REALLOCATION OF CDBG FUNDS <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that included among the CDBG. - <br />reallocation was a recommendation by the CDBG Task Force to <br />pave the alley behind 10 1/2 Street.. Mr. Hendrix stated that <br />it has not been the policy of the City to pave alleys, with <br />two exceptions, Avon-Street where on-street parking was <br />removed and the alley between 4th and 5th Streets off the <br />downtown mall. <br /> <br /> Mr. Blake Caravati, a member of the CDBG Task Force, <br />stated that the Task Force recommended paving the alley <br />because of parking and safety, concerns. <br /> <br /> Mr. Vandever stated-that the use of CDBG funds alters <br />City policy through such programs as-the paint program and <br /> <br /> <br />
