Council unanimously voted to meet in executive session to <br />discuss personnel and legal matters as exempted by Section <br />2.1-344(a)(1) and (6) of the Virginia Freedom of Information <br />Act. <br /> <br />~meeting was adjourned.~_,~ j ~ <br />r~~es~dent ~rk - <br /> <br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Saturday, <br />November 21, 1987 AT 9:30 a.m. IN THE 2044 Stoneridge, <br />Wintergreen, Va. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Annual Council Retreat <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jeanne Cox (signed) <br /> <br /> 2044 STONERIDGE, WINTERGREEN, VA. - November 21, 1987 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. <br />Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe. <br /> <br /> The annual City Council retreat was convened by Mayor <br />Buck. He turned to the prepared agenda and asked Mr. Hendrix <br />to proceed with the discussion of the issues. During the <br />course of the retreat, the following topics were discussed: <br /> <br /> 1. Public schools and the local ability to provide <br />needed financing. <br /> <br /> 2. Highways and assuring that the City benefits from <br />the new revenues being put into highway improvements. <br /> <br />3. Improvements to the West Main Street corridor. <br /> <br /> 4. The sensitivity of neighborhoods around the <br />Unviersity and the replacement hospital. <br /> <br />5. Rental occupancy permits. <br /> <br />6. Virginia Film Festival. <br /> <br /> 7. Status of the various projects in the Capital <br />Improvements Program (CIP). <br /> <br /> 8o Use of CDBG funds in relationship to the <br />preservation of neighborhoods. <br /> <br /> 9. Work session with the SOcial Development Commission <br />following the scheduled work session with the Planning <br />Commission. <br /> <br /> 10. The possible impact of the Graham-Rudman automatic <br />cuts or the budget compromise bill on City revenues. <br /> <br />11.
