It was the consensus of Council to approve the overtime for leaf collection for two weekends. On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Towe, Council voted to meet in executive session to discuss personnel matters and acquisition of property as exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) and (2) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, with Mr. Barnes abstaining due to a potential conflict of interest. PRESENTATION: CHARLOTTESVILLE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM Mr. Garwin DeBerry, Coach of the Charlottesville High School Football Team, introduced members of the team and assistant coaches. Mr. DeBerry presented Council with team towels as a memento of the football team's successful season. On motion by Mr. Towe, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, COuncil unanimously approved a resolution congratulating the CHS Football Team on its sucCessful season. WHEREAS, the Charlottesville High'School Football Team had an impressive 10-3 record during its 1987-88 season; and WHEREAS, the Football Team, Under the leadership of Coach Garwin DeBerry and Assistant Coaches Cy Weaver, Carol Dickers, and Ron Green, participated in the playoffs for the first time in twelve years, becoming co-champions in the Valley District and regional champions in Region II; and WHEREAS, fifteen team members were chosen for All-District, eight members were chosen for All-Regional, and three members were chosen for All-State;
