107 <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Mro Hendrix stated that he would present Council with a <br />report on recreation and cemetery fees at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Towe thanked the First Night Virginia Committee for <br />their annual New Year's celebration. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Towe, seconded by Dr. Hall, Council <br /> unanimously voted to meet in executive session to discuss <br /> personnel matters as exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) of <br /> the Virginia Freedom of Information Act following the <br /> meeting of the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing <br /> Authority. <br />eetlng was adjourned. <br /> <br /> President---------~ ~ ~ <br /> <br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Wednesday, <br />January 14, 1987 AT 12:00 noon IN THE Basement Conference <br />Room. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Luncheon meeting with School Board <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR <br /> <br />BY Jeanne Cox (signed) <br /> <br />BASEMENT CONFERENCE ROOM - January 14, 1987 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. <br />Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck requested that the SchoOl Board give Council a <br />status report on the following: Capital Improvement <br />Projects, Future Needs Study, and the recent fire at Venable <br />Elementary School. <br /> <br /> Dr. Vincent Cibbarelli, Superintendent of City Schools, <br />commended the City's Fire Department for their prompt <br />attention to the recent fire at Venable School. Dr. <br />Cibbarelli stated that one special education class and one <br />kindergarten class had been lost in the fire, but the <br />classes were being accommodated in other locations in <br />Venable. <br /> <br /> Mro Jim Dunbar of Schools administration, stated that <br />staff was negotiating to see if the classrooms could be <br />restored to the condition planned following renovations at <br />Venable. <br /> <br /> Mr. Dunbar stated that the architects are close to <br />meeting their time schedule for renovating Clark Elementary <br />School and that meetings have been planned with teachers and <br />administrators to get their imput before final plans are <br />formulated. <br /> <br /> Mr. Dunbar stated that construction for improvements in <br />the Charlottesville High School student parking lot were <br />delayed until after July 1st. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck stated that he thought that all authorized <br />improvements to Charlottesville High School had been <br />completed. <br /> <br /> <br />
