Mr. Hendrix <br />questioned whether Council wanted to become involved in the <br />matter. <br /> <br /> It was the consensus of Council to not require the <br />examination. <br /> <br /> Mr. Towe thanked Mr. Buck and Mr. Barnes for their <br />successful negotiations with Jefferson Cable in convincing <br />them to return WWBT, Channel 12 to the air. <br /> <br /> A work session was scheduled for June 10th at 7:30 p.m. <br />to discuss the space study and parking issues to be held <br />jointly with the Planning Commission. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, <br />Council unanimously voted to meet in executive session to <br />discuss personnel, legal matters and disposition of property <br />as exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1), (2), and (6) of the <br />Virginia Freedom of Information Act. <br /> <br />et!ng <br /> <br />was <br /> <br />adjourned. <br /> <br /> rk <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - June 1, 1987' <br /> <br /> Council met in regular session on this date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. <br />Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Towe, the <br />minutes of MaY 18th were unanimously approved as presented. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck stated that consideration of the sale of <br />property on Preston Avenue and the closing of a portion of <br />an alley off Preston would be deferred until the July 6th <br />meeting at the request of the applicant. <br /> <br /> Ms. Charlotte Sherman of Field Road, urged Council to <br />take action against the Lucky 7 store on Grady Avenue in <br />order to restore the hours of operation which were in effect <br />when the business was approved as a non-conforming use. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mike Terry, Coach of the Charlottesville High <br />School Tennis Team, stated that the team had won the State <br />Tennis Championship and he introduced members of the team. <br /> <br /> <br />
