Mr. Stoner stressed that Meadowcreek Parkwvay is a critical element of the <br />development of the property. <br /> <br />As there were no further speakers, the public hearing was closed. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Daugherty, seconded by Mr. Cox, the ordinance extending the <br />purchase agreement for the property' located offPenn Park Lane was offered and carded over <br />to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Ms. Slaughter announced that Money Magazine has ranked Charlottesville as the best <br />small city in the south in which to live. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Richards, seconded by Ms. Daugherty, Council voted, with Mr. <br />Toscano absent, to meet in executive session to consider appointments to various boards and <br />commissions as provided by Section 2.1-344(A)(1) of the Virginia Code. <br /> <br /> Council reconvened in open session and, on motion by Ms. Daugherty, seconded by <br />Mr. Cox, certified, with Mr. Toscano absent, that, to the best of each member's knowledge, <br />(i) only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by <br />Virginia law were discussed in the executive meeting to which this certification resolution <br />applies, and (ii) only such public business matters as were identified in the motion convening <br />the executive meeting were heard, discussed or considered by the Council. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br /> On motion by M. Daugherty, seconded by Ms. Richards, Mr. Richard Jemngs was <br />unanimously appointed, with Mr. Toscano absent, as the joint City/County' appointee on the <br />Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail Board.
