Absent: Ms. Richards and Ms. Slaughter. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $60,000 - ADVANCE TO MACAA FOR SUMMER WORKS <br />PROGRAM (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The $60,000 appropriation of an advance to MACAA for the Summer Works program, <br />which was offered at the June 15th meeting, was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. <br />Cox, Ms. Daugherty, Mr. Toscano. Noes: None. Absent: Ms. Richards andMs. Slaughter. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum <br />of $60,000 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General Fund as a <br />loan to the Monticello Area Community Action Agency (MACAA), as start-up funds for the <br />Summer Youth Works 1998 program. This loan is conditioned upon MACAA's promise to <br />pay the advance in its entirety on or before November 1, 1998, whether such repayment is <br />effected from funds received from the MACAA contract with the Piedmont Job Training <br />Administration or from some other source.
