133 <br /> <br /> NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Friday, May t4, <br />1999 AT i2:00 noon IN THE Clark Elementary School. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Luncheon meeting with School Board <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jeanne Cox (signed) <br /> <br /> CLARK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - May 14, 1999 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: <br />Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Ms, Daugherty, Mr. Toscano. Absent: Ms. Richards. <br /> <br /> Mr. Harley M~fles with the Charlottesville Public Schools gave a presentation on <br />the School% technology programs, explaining that the State has computer and technology <br />standards that must be met. <br /> <br /> Mr. Toscano said that the School Board may have to make choices and set <br />priorities in the future in order to pay for technology. <br /> <br /> Mr, William Symons, Superintendent of City Schools, said that the City and <br />Schools need to develop a vision for the Schools, with community discussions, and <br />suggested that the Mayor, Chair o£the School Board~ SuperintendenL and City Manager <br />begin the discussion by meeting to plan a structure and process. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Monday, May 17, <br />1999 AT 5:30 p.m. IN THE Second Floor Conference Room. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Executive session as provided by Section 2.1-344(A) of the Virginia Code <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR <br /> <br />BY Jeanne Cox (signed) <br /> <br />SECOND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM - May 17, 1999 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: <br />Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Ms. Daugherty, Ms. Richards, Mr. Toscano. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Mr. Caravati, Council voted to meet in <br />executive session for the purpose of routine annual performance evaluations of specific <br />public officers and appointees, as authorized by Section 2A-344(A)(1) and for the <br />purpose of considering the acquisition or use of real property for public purpose, of the <br />disposition of publicly held property, as authorized by Section 2. t-344(A)(3) of the <br />Virginia Code, and more specifically described as property on Elliott Avenue. <br /> <br /> Council reconvened in open session and, on motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by <br />Mr. Caravati, certified (Ayes: Mn Caravati, Mr. Cox, Ms. Daugherty, Mr. Toscano. <br />Noes: None. Absent: lVls. Richards) that, to the best of each member's knowledge, (i) <br />only public business rnatters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by <br />Virginia law were discussed in the executive meeting to which this certification <br />resolution applies, and (ii) only such public business .matters as were identified in the <br /> <br /> <br />
