ANNE'S CLASSROOM <br />ADDITION (2 t 32 IVY ROAD) <br /> <br /> Mr. Cox said he is not clear whether the classroom addition is temporary or <br />permanent. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ron Higgins, Acting Director of Community Devetopmem, said that St. <br />Anne's is proposing to renovate Randolph Hall, which currently houses classrooms, to <br />return it to auditorium and meeting space. The classrooms will be a permanent addition, <br />but Mr. Higgins noted that there will not be an increase in the number of students. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Mr. Caravati, the resolution appro-,ring <br />the special permit for St. Anne's classroom addition was approved by the following vote. <br />Ayes: Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Ms. Daugherty, Ms. Richards, Mr. Toscano. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, St. Anne's-Belfield School has requested an amendment to the <br />special use permit granted on June 4, 1990 and amended on December 16, 1996, to add a <br />classroom building (11,440 square feet) on the northwest side of Randolph Hall. This <br />property is further identified as Parcel 1.10 on City Real Property Tax Map 7, having <br />approximately 600 feet of frontage on Ivy Road, 40 feet of frontage on Twyman Road, <br />and containing approximately 915,631 square feet of land or 21 acres; <br /> <br /> WI~REAS, following a joint public hearing before this Council and the <br />Planning Commission, duly advertised and held on April 14, 1999, this CounciI finds that <br />such use will conform to the criteria applicable to special permits generally under <br />Chapter 34 of the City Code; now, therefore <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Vkginia that <br />an amendment to the-special use permit granted on June 4, t990, and an~ended December <br />16, 1996, is hereby approved and granted to St. Anne's-Belfield School, owner of the <br />property at 2132 Ivy Road, to add a classroom building (t 1,440 square feet) on the <br />northwest side of Randolph Hall. This amendment to the special use permit is <br />conditioned upon the following: <br /> <br />All previous special permit conditions for this property shall continue to be in <br />place and complied with. <br /> <br />Administrative approval of the final site plan for the classroom addition with all <br />staff review comments and ordinance requirements appropriately addressed. <br /> <br />REPORT/ORDINANCE: UTILITY RATES <br /> <br /> Ms. Rita Scott, Director of Finance, reviewed the capital improvement and <br />customer service projects, including a multi-year line replacement and reconstruction, <br />automatic meter reading program, due to be complete by the end of the summer, and a <br />computerized model of the water distribution system. <br /> <br /> Ms. Scott said that all of the utilities are self-supporting. Gas rates are projected <br />to increase less than 1%, water to increase 4.7%, and wastewater 1.2%. <br /> <br /> Responding to a question from Mr. Caravati, Ms. Scott said that Albemarle <br />County is not proposing an increase in their water rates because she understands they are <br />replacing their meters which they feel will make up for the increased cost. <br /> <br /> <br />
