Absent: Mr. Cox. <br /> <br /> Ms. Lee Davis Brown, Vocational Planner for the Charlottesville Schools, <br />discussed the Career Development Model, a school to career transition that is intended <br />for all students from kindergarten to grade 12. The major focus is on academic <br />development, career development, and personal social development. <br /> <br /> M_r. Dan Fielding of the Ctratrlottesville Schools, said that Vocational Technical <br />Education has been renamed Professional Technical Studies. Program areas include: <br />business education, marketing education, technical education, work and family studies, <br />trade and industrial education, information technology academy, and health occupations. <br /> <br /> Ms. Brown discussed work based learning, which includes post secondary <br />linkages, technical preparation articulated programs, occupational certificate program <br />professional development for teachers~ and business and education partnerships. <br /> <br /> Ms. Linda So, man, Director of the Charlottesville Area School Business Alliar~e <br />(CASBA), which is comprised of area businesses, education schools and the Chamber of <br /> <br /> <br />
