Hunt, Jr. has held the position in the <br />last several years of Vice-President for Business and Finance <br />of the University of Virginia; and <br />WHEREAS, he has worked for many years to foster good <br />relations between the University and the community around it; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS. he and the University administration, as well as <br />the community, have been concerned about the physical deterioration <br />of fraternity houses at the University, and about the need not only <br />to improve these conditions, but also to encourage the fraternities <br />to be responsible members of the community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, no feasible means of accomplishing this had been <br />found; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ray C. Hunt, Jr., in cooperation with a number of <br />interested friends of the University, including the Charlottesville <br />Department of Community Development, the Charlottesville Historic <br />Landmarks Commission, the Virginia Historic Landmarks Commission <br />and the Venable Neighborhood Association, was able to devise a <br />unique and workable solution; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through the efforts of many, under the leadership <br />and encouragement of Ray C. Hunt, Jr., the Historic Renovation <br />Corporation, Inc. was created; and <br /> <br /> <br />
