43 On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the resolution appointing viewers to consider closing a portion of Old Fifth Street Ext. at Harris Road was unanimously approved by Council. WHEREAS, this Council has received a petition requesting vacation of the triangular portion of property at the entrance of Old Fifth Street Extended at Harris Road on City Real Property Tax Map 21-B, Parcel 4; and WHEREAS, it appears to Council that the notice required by Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, has been duly advertised; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Ms. Mary Jane Haynes, Messrs. W. J. Copeland and H. P. Winn, Jr. report in writing to Council what inconvenience, if any, would result from such vacation. RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO SIGN AGREEMENT AND EASEMENT FOR DRAINAGE IN SEMINOLE SQUARE On motion by Dr. Hail, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign an agreement and easement for drainage in Seminole Square was unanimously approved by Council BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that the Mayor is hereby, authorized to execute on behalf of the City the following document, in form approved by the City Attorney: Agreement and easement for drainage in Seminole Square A copy of such document shall be kept on file with the minutes of the Council meeting at which this resolution was adopted. RESOLUTION: APPROVING HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN AMENDMENT Mr. Hendrix explained that the Housing Assistance Plan must be amended in order for the Independence Resource Center to make application to HUD to construct housing for the disabled and elderly in Belmont which had been previously endorsed by Council. On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the Housing Assistance Plan was unanimously amended by Council. RESOLUTION: PROPERTY AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO SIGN DDED FOR SALE OF GLENN COURT Mr. Hendrix explained that the resolution had been placed on the agenda to g~ve interested parties an opportunity to comment on the proposed sale of the 20 foot strip of land to the Glenn Court property owners. Dr. Bill Grant of Glenn Court, reaffirmed the interest of the Glenn Court property owners to acquire the property. There was one one else to speak on the matter. On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Barnes, the resolution was unanimously approved by Council. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City the following document, in form approved by the City Attorney: A subdivision plat prepared by Roudabush, Greene & Gale, Inc., dated April 3, 1985, showing Parcels X-1 through X-Ii, a division of Parcel X in Block C, Section 2 of Greenbrier Heights, and deeds conveying Parcels X-1 through X-Ii to adjacent property owners in Greenbrier Heights subdivision.
