43 <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the <br />resolution appointing viewers to consider closing a portion of <br />Old Fifth Street Ext. at Harris Road was unanimously approved <br />by Council. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has received a petition requesting <br />vacation of the triangular portion of property at the <br />entrance of Old Fifth Street Extended at Harris Road on City <br />Real Property Tax Map 21-B, Parcel 4; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it appears to Council that the notice required <br />by Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, <br />has been duly advertised; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />that Ms. Mary Jane Haynes, Messrs. W. J. Copeland and H. P. Winn, <br />Jr. report in writing to Council what inconvenience, if any, <br />would result from such vacation. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO SIGN AGREEMENT AND EASEMENT FOR <br />DRAINAGE IN SEMINOLE SQUARE <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Hail, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the resolution <br />authorizing the Mayor to sign an agreement and easement for <br />drainage in Seminole Square was unanimously approved by Council <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />that the Mayor is hereby, authorized to execute on behalf of the <br />City the following document, in form approved by the City Attorney: <br /> <br />Agreement and easement for drainage in Seminole Square <br /> <br /> A copy of such document shall be kept on file with the <br />minutes of the Council meeting at which this resolution was adopted. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: APPROVING HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN AMENDMENT <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that the Housing Assistance Plan must <br />be amended in order for the Independence Resource Center to <br />make application to HUD to construct housing for the disabled and <br />elderly in Belmont which had been previously endorsed by Council. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the Housing <br />Assistance Plan was unanimously amended by Council. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: <br /> <br />PROPERTY <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO SIGN DDED FOR SALE OF GLENN COURT <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that the resolution had been placed <br />on the agenda to g~ve interested parties an opportunity to comment <br />on the proposed sale of the 20 foot strip of land to the Glenn <br />Court property owners. <br /> <br /> Dr. Bill Grant of Glenn Court, reaffirmed the interest of <br />the Glenn Court property owners to acquire the property. <br /> <br />There was one one else to speak on the matter. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Barnes, the <br />resolution was unanimously approved by Council. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the <br />City the following document, in form approved by the City Attorney: <br /> <br />A subdivision plat prepared by Roudabush, Greene & Gale, <br />Inc., dated April 3, 1985, showing Parcels X-1 through <br />X-Ii, a division of Parcel X in Block C, Section 2 of <br />Greenbrier Heights, and deeds conveying Parcels X-1 <br />through X-Ii to adjacent property owners in Greenbrier <br />Heights subdivision. <br /> <br /> <br />
