Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. <br />Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Agriculture has <br />established a program to bring about an i.ncreased aware- <br />ness of the critical importance of proper nutrition for <br />children and a belief that school vacation should not end <br />the availability of nutritious meals for many children, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville shares the same <br />concerns as USDA; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Char- <br />lottesville that food service be established as part of <br />the City of Charlottesville's summer recreation programs <br />and the greater of $21,000.00 or the amount reimbursed by <br />USDA for implementation of this program, is hereby appro- <br />priated to the grant account 11-51210 for this purpose. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $55,737 YOUTH SERVICE CENTER (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The $55,737 appropriation for the Youth Service <br />Center which was offered at the meeting of July 1st, was <br />approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. <br />Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Corrections has <br />notified the City of its grant award under the Virginia <br />Delinquency Prevention and Youth Development Act; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that $55,737 is hereby appropriated <br />to expenditure account 11-12060 in the Grants Fund for <br />operation of the Youth Service Center during the 1985-1986 <br />fiscal year. The center shall be operated by the Central <br />Virginia Child Development Association under contract with <br />the City. This appropriation shall be conditioned upon <br />receipt by the Grants Fund of $41,147 from the Virginia <br />Department of Corrections grant number 85-11-2, $3,790 in <br />matching funds from Outreach Counseling Services, Inc., and <br />$10,800 to be transferred from General Fund account 01-12130. <br /> <br /> <br />
