APPROPRIATION: $13,525 PEN PARK ELECTRICAL SERVICE (2nd reading) Mr. Buck stated that he would vote against the appropriation because he felt the item should be included in the budget process. The $13,525 appropriation for Pen Park Electrical Service which was offered at the meeting of July 1st, was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- ville~ Virginia that the sum of $13,525.00 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General Fund to expenditure account 01-91140 for transfer to Capital Improvements Fund account 05-51000, to be used for the installation of underground electrical service lines at Pen Park. APPROPRIATION: $21,000 SUMMER NUTRITION PROGRAM (2nd reading) The $21,000 appropriation for the Summer Nutrition Program which was offered at the meeting of July 1st, was approved by the following vote. Department of Agriculture has established a program to bring about an i.ncreased aware- ness of the critical importance of proper nutrition for children and a belief that school vacation should not end the availability of nutritious meals for many children, and WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville shares the same concerns as USDA; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Char- lottesville that food service be established as part of the City of Charlottesville's summer recreation programs and the greater of $21,000.00 or the amount reimbursed by USDA for implementation of this program, is hereby appro- priated to the grant account 11-51210 for this purpose. APPROPRIATION: $55,737 YOUTH SERVICE CENTER (2nd reading) The $55,737 appropriation for the Youth Service Center which was offered at the meeting of July 1st, was approved by the following vote. WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Corrections has notified the City of its grant award under the Virginia Delinquency Prevention and Youth Development Act; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that $55,737 is hereby appropriated to expenditure account 11-12060 in the Grants Fund for operation of the Youth Service Center during the 1985-1986 fiscal year. The center shall be operated by the Central Virginia Child Development Association under contract with the City. This appropriation shall be conditioned upon receipt by the Grants Fund of $41,147 from the Virginia Department of Corrections grant number 85-11-2, $3,790 in matching funds from Outreach Counseling Services, Inc., and $10,800 to be transferred from General Fund account 01-12130.
