114 OTHER BUSINESS Dr. Hall stated that the 12th Street neighborhood had requested that he thank the City Manager and Police for the City's response to concerns in the neighborhood. Mr. Buck requested that the Charlottesville Re- development and Housing Authority take the necessary steps to market and encourage development of the Amoco and old Leggett .parking lot sites. Mrs. Gleason stated that potential developers of the property should be made aware of the recommendations of the Urban Design Task Force. Mr. Hendrix stated that the Highway Department has been working on the design of the Ridge Street bridge-, with construction estimated to begin in 1987. Mr. Hendrix explained that the grade will affect the bus parking lot but elsewhere there would be minimal impact.- Mr. Hendrix added that the~Traffic Engineer has suggested expanding the road to 55 feet at the intersection of Main and Ridge/ Mclntire in order to accommodate a turn lane in the future, and requested Council's response to the recommendation. Mr. Buck stated, and Council concurred, that expanding the road to S5 feet should be discussed as part of the plan with the understanding that it not be considered final approval by Council. On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, Council voted to meet in executive session to discuss personnel and legal matters as exempted by Section 2.1-344 the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. ng was adjourned.
