152 <br /> <br /> It was decided that a decision concerning closing <br />the median at Hillcrest and 250 Bypass be made at the <br />next meeting and allowing the neighborhood an opportunity <br />to react. <br /> <br /> Mr. Marshall stated that he felt improvements to the <br />exit ramp on Rugby Road would help the situation~. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck requested a report for the next meeting <br />which would include a drawing. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck requested a report from Mr. Marshall on the <br />possibility of increasing-.the stacking lane traveling <br />west on the 250 Bypass and turning left onto Mclntire Road. <br /> <br /> On .motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Dr.. Gunter, Council <br />voted to meet in executive session to discuss personnel <br />and legal matters as exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) and <br />(6) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. <br /> ~ing was adjourned. <br />esident <br /> <br /> COUNCIL CHAMBER <br /> <br /> Council met in regular session on this date With the <br /> following members present: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. <br /> Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. <br /> <br />December 16, 1985 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by.Dr. Gunter~ <br />the minutes of November 13th were approved as presented <br />with Dr. Hall abstaining. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Dr. Hall, the <br />minutes of November 21st were unanimously approved as <br />corrected. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Gunter, s.econded by Mrs. Gteason, <br />the minutes of December 2nd were unanimously approved as <br />presented. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mr. Fred Taylor and Chief Cook of the Charlottesville <br /> Volunteer Firefighters Association, presented Council with <br /> an itemization of the expenses of their conference which <br /> was held in August in Charlottesville and returned to the <br /> City $812.92 which had not been spent. <br /> <br /> Ms. Charlotte Sherman, Corresponding Secretary of <br /> the Federation of Neighborhood Associations, read a state- <br /> ment requesting the City Council to recommend to the <br /> Albemarle County Board of Supervisors that the rezoning <br /> request on Fontaine Avenue be denied. The following <br /> neighborhood associations concurred with the statement: <br /> Charlottesville High School, Fifeville, Fry Springs, <br /> Jefferson Park Avenue, Rose Hill, Greenbrier, Venabte, <br /> Orangedale. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: CLOSING AN ALLEY FROM BRANDON AVENUE TO MONROE LANE <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the alley closing had been <br /> deferred because of concern about maintaining a pedestrian <br /> <br /> <br />
