~218 <br /> <br />concurrence with the Resolution so that the Authority may <br />finance the acquisition, construction and equipping of <br />Facilities to be leased or sold to hospitals located in the <br />Municipality; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> <br /> (1) The City Council concurs with the Resolution <br />adopted by the Authority to the extent required by Section <br />15.1-1378 to allow the Authority to finance with the <br />Proceeds of the Bonds the Facilities described in the <br />Resolution that are to be located in the Municipality. <br /> <br />(2) This resolution shall take effect immediately. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: APPROVING TRANSIT GRANT APPLICATIONS <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Gunter, <br />Council unanimously authorized the submission of three <br />transit grant applications. <br /> <br />1- BE IT RESOLVED BY THE City Council that the City <br />Manager is authorized, for and on behalf of the City of <br />Charlottesville, to execute and file an application to the <br />Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation, <br />Commonwealth of Virginia, for a grant of transportation <br />funds authorized in Chapter , Item of the 1986 Acts <br />of the General Assembly for State Aid for Capital Costs in <br />the amount of $73,449.00 to defray ninety-five percent <br />(95%) of the local matching share of the City of <br />Charlottesville for equipment, facilities, and the <br />associated costs of an approved Federal Capital Grant, to <br />accept from the Virginia Department of Highways and <br />Transportation grants in such amount as may be awarded, and <br />to authorize the Transit Manager to furnish to the Virginia <br />Department of Highways and Transportation such documents <br />and other information as may be required for processing the <br />grant request. <br /> <br /> The City Council certifies that the funds shall be <br />used in accordance with the requirements of the Appro- <br />priation Act of 1986 that the City of Charlottesville <br />will provide matching funds in the ratio as required in <br />such Act (five percent (5%) of the local matching share), <br />that the records of receipts expenditure of funds granted <br />the City of Charlottesville, as authorized by the Acts of <br />the General Assembly (Chapter , Item State Aid for <br />Capital Costs) may be subject to audit by the Virginia <br />Department of Highways and Transportation, and by the State <br />Auditor of Public Accounts, and that funds granted to the <br />City of Charlottesvile for defraying the cost of public <br />transportation capital costs of the City of Charlottesville <br />shall be used only for such purposes as authorized in the <br />Acts of the General Assembly. <br /> <br />2- BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that the City Manager is authorized for and <br />on behalf of the City of Charlottesville, to execute and <br />file an application to the Virginia Department of Highways <br />and Transportation, Commonwealth of Virginia, for a grant <br />of transportation fund authorized in Chapter , budget <br />item of the 1986 Acts of the General Assembly in the <br />amount of $287,241 for fiscal year commencing July 1, 1986, <br />to defray the public transportatin fuels, lubricants, <br />tires, and maintenance parts and supplies expenses of the <br />City of Charlottesville and to accept from the Virginia <br />Department of Highways and Transportation grants in such <br />amount as may be awarded, and to authorize the Transit <br />Manager to furnish to the Virginia Department of Highways <br />and Transportation such documents and other information as <br />may be required for processing the grant request. <br /> <br /> <br />
