219 <br /> <br /> The City Council certifies: that the funds shall be <br />used in accordance with the requirements of the <br />Appropriations Act of 1986; that the City of <br />Charlottesville will provide matching funds of five (5%) as <br />required in such Act; that the record of receipts and <br />expenditure of funds granted the City of Charlottesville as <br />authorized in the Acts of the General Assembly (Chapter , <br />Appropriation Item ) may be subject to audit by the <br />Department of Highways and Transportation and by the State <br />Auditor of Public Accounts; and that funds granted to the <br />City of Charlottesville for defraying the expenses of <br />public transportation fuels, lubricants, tires, and <br />maintenance parts and supplies of the City of <br />Charlottesville shall be used only for such purpose as <br />authorized in the Acts of the General Assembly. <br /> <br />3- BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that the City Manager is authorized, for <br />and on behalf of the City of Charlottesville, to execute <br />and file an application to the Virginia Department of <br />Highways and Transportation, Commonwealth of Virginia, for <br />a grant of transportation special revenues, Chapter , <br />budget item of the 1986 Acts of the General Assembly in <br />the amount of $65,176 for fiscal year commencing July 1, <br />1986, to defray the public transportation administrative <br />expenses of the City of Charlottesville and to accept from <br />the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation <br />grants in such amount as may be awarded, and to authorize <br />the Transit Manager to furnish to the Virginia Department <br />of Highways and Transportation such documents and other <br />information as may be required for processing the grant <br />request. <br /> <br /> The City Council certifies: that the fund shall be <br />used in accordance with the requirements of the <br />Appropriations Act of 1986; that the City of <br />Charlottesville will provide matching funds of fifty <br />percent (50%) as required in such Act; that the record of <br />receipts and expenditures of funds granted the City of <br />Charlottesville as authorized in the Acts of the General <br />Assembly (Chapter , Appropriation Item ) may be <br />subject to audit by the Department of Highways and <br />Transportation and by the State Auditor of Public Accounts; <br />and that funds granted to the City of Charlottesville for <br />defraying the expenses of public transportation <br />administration of the City of Charlottesville shall be used <br />only for such purposes as authorized in the Acts of the <br />General Assembly. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: ACCEPTING STREETS IN CITY SYSTEM <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that accepting the streets into <br />the City system would allow the City to receive <br />maintenance funds. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Gunter, seconded by Dr. Hall, the <br />resolution accepting streets into the City system was <br />unanimously approved by Council. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, on recommendation of the Chief <br />Engineer, that the following streets located in the City, <br />which have been built to City standards and specifications, <br />are hereby accepted into the City street system for <br />maintenance: <br /> <br />- Baylor Lane from Raymond Road south 0.12 miles. <br />- Booker Street from Charlton Avenue south 0.03 miles. <br />- Brunswick Road from Sunset Road to Jefferson Park <br /> Circle. <br />- Cabell Avenue from Preston Avenue east 0.07 miles. <br /> <br /> <br />
