Snook, Jr., Ms. Pynke <br />Gohaner-Lyles, Mr. David Toscano, Mr. Greg Cabell, Mr. <br /> and Mr. Darden Towe. <br /> <br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Monday, <br />July 7, 1986 AT 7:00 p.m. IN THE Mayor's Office. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Executive session to discuss personnel matters as exempted <br />by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act. <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR <br /> <br />BY Jeanne Cox (signed) <br /> <br />MAYOR'S OFFICE - July 7, 1986 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on thiS date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. <br />Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, <br />Council unanimously voted to meet in executive Session to <br />discuss personnel matters as exempted by Section <br />2.1-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - July 7, 1986 <br /> <br /> Council met in regular session on this date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. <br />Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roger Wiley, City Attorney, called the meeting to <br />order and asked for nominations for Mayor. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Gleason nominated Mr. Buck for Mayor, stating <br />that he has proven himself to be an excellent~leader and <br />noting the progressive advancement of the City during his <br />tenure as Mayor. <br /> <br /> Mr. Towe nominated Mr. Barnes for Mayor, stating that <br />while Mr. Buck has done a fine job and served the Council <br />well, he felt it was time to give the opportunity to <br />another member of Council. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck was elected Mayor by the following vote. <br />For Mr. Buck: Mrs. Gleason and Dr. Hall. For Mr. Barnes: <br />Mr. Towe. Abstaining: Mr. Barnes and Mr. Buck. <br /> <br /> Mr. BUck thanked Council for their support and stated <br />that he felt it was an honor to serve such a fine <br />community as Charlottesville. <br /> <br />Mr. Buck asked for nominations for Vice-Mayor. <br /> <br />Mr. Towe nominated Dr. Hall for Vice-Mayor. <br /> <br /> <br />
