Policeman appointed Policeman Dameron paid 2 pay Nov. Quarterly Estimate Approp. to Redland Land Corp. for Water conn. 91, A communication from the Mayor stating that he had appointed M. J. Payne as a regular policeman to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Z. L. Dameron, was presented and on motion this appointMent was unanimously ratified. On motion by Dr. Haden, one-half pay f or the month of November was ordered paid to Policeman Z. L. Dameron's widow. The City Manager's Quarterly Estimate in amount of $42,050.00 for the quarter ending February 28, 1940, was presented and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. On motion by Dr. Haden, seconded by Mr. Peyton, the following resolution was unanimously adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that $100.00 be and the same is hereby appropriated to the Redland Land Corpora- tion for Dr. J. H. Rushton water connection. On motion the resolution appropriating X4,845.50 as the City's proportionate Resolution- part for additional equipment in the new white high school,which was offered at the Appropriation new high last regular meeting was adopted by the following recorded vote: Ayes: Mr. Gleason, school equip. Dr. Haden, Mr. Jessup, and 1,1Ir. Peyton. Noes: None. On motion the following resolution was unanimously adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Chariottesville that Parking $696.75 be and the same is hereby appropriated to pay to the Dual Parking Meters Meter Company 75% of the receipts from the parking meters from October 11, to November 14, 1939, inclusive. On motion by Dr. Haden, the following resolution was unanimously adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Christmas $50.00, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby Lights Appropriation appropriated for electricity to be used for Christmas Lights on Main Street. On motion the following resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Resolution- X1,500.00, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is Sewer Work hereby appropri�ited for sewer work at the new white high school. Seger work A communication from Dr. Johnson, clerk of the City School Board, in regard to new high school sewer work, etc., at the new white high school, was presented and ordered filed with the minutes of this meeting. Ordinance- An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE SETTING APART $91,470.83 FOR STREETS, SEWERS, Annexed Territory LIGHTS, WATER AND OTHER PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS IN THL ANNEXED TERRITORY", which was offered at the last regular meeting was adopted by the following recorded vote: Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Tdr. On motion the Council went into Executive Session by the following recorded vote: Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Jessup, and 1.11r. Peyton. Noes: None.
