D. Dabney for a per_ -_lit to operate a filling <br />station at the southwest corner of Water and 2nd Streets, West, and an application <br />by F. L. Harris for a permit to operate a filling station at the southwest corner <br />of Free Bridge Road and Meade Avenue, were carried over in order to comply with the <br />provisions of the City Code. <br />On motion the Council went into Executive Session by the following recorded <br />vote: Ayes: I -Ir. Gleason, Dr. Haden, 11r. Huff, 1.1r..Jessup, and !,.,Ir. Peyton. Noes:None. <br />On motion the Rules and Regulations governing the golf course at 1.'IcIntire Park <br />as submitted by -he City ,ianager were approved and ordered filed with the minutes of <br />this meeting. <br />A motion by Dr. Haden, seconded by ar. II. for the pur,�ose of considering: <br />1. -layorts report relative to suspension of Firemen. <br />2. Street Line on East High Street. <br />3. License Tax Ordinance. <br />Sidewalk Application. <br />BY ORDER OF: <br />Jas. L. Bowen.- Jr. <br />(signed) George T. Huff (signed) - <br />Clerk President <br />the Council met in Special Session on this date with the following members present: <br />Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Iulr. Huff, Ivir. Jessup, and Mr. Peyton. <br />On motion by Dr. Haden, the following retort was adopted and the action of the <br />Miayor unanimously ratified: <br />February 28, 1910 <br />To the Members of the Council <br />of the City of Charlottesville, Va. <br />Gentlemen: <br />On February 12, 19H0, I suspended without pay for the <br />remaining part of February, 1910, Fireman Frank Arbogast and <br />Fireman Boyd Plougher for drinking ardent spirits while on duty <br />at the Fire House. These firemen were warned that should this <br />offense be repeated they would be dismissed from further service <br />in the Fire Company. <br />The above suspension was made on the recommendation of Fire <br />Chief Page. <br />Very truly yours, <br />Geo.
