Jessup, and lir. <br />Peyton. <br />Minutes of the Meetings of <br />January 3, and January 6, 1930, <br />were read and <br />approved. <br />recorded vote. Ayes: Cdr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />Mr. Jessup, and 11r. Peyton. <br />An ordinance entitled ?TA11 ORDINANCE <br />A=NDI1;, C AND REEITACTITJG <br />SUBSECTION) /+4 OF <br />SECTION x.94 (BUILLING CODE) OF THE CITY CODE OF 1932, F TITLED ?SAFETY OF DESIGN. ? r', <br />On motion the following resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />Appropriation that �P,400.00, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be and the <br />Welfare Letot. <br />same is hereby appropriated for additional supplies, rents, etc., <br />for the indigents of the city. <br />Resignation- Pyr. Frank E. Hartman tendered his resignation as a member of the School Board <br />Frantz E. Hartman - <br />School Bd. from the Third Ward, effective January 16, 1939. On motion by Dr. Haden, seconded <br />Member <br />by Mr. Peyton, TMr. Hartman?s resignation was accepted with regrets. <br />On motion the Council went into Fxecutive Session by the following recorded vote: <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, Cdr. Jessu_o, and Mr. Peyton. Noes: None. <br />Gasoline The matter pertaining to the storage of gasoline within the City was carried <br />Storage <br />over to a subsequent meetint, for consideration. <br />On motion by Mr. Jessup, seconded by Mr. Peyton, Honorable John C. Battle was <br />Attorney employed to assist the City Attorney in the defense of the Royer claim against <br />employed in <br />• Royer claim Albemurle County, and said attorneys were instructed and directed to tape such <br />action as would prevent the City's liability by reason of the recent Annexation Order. <br />Ordinance- <br />was offered by Dr. Haden, seconded by fir.
